Since 1st May 2015, tourist visas have been abolished. Ask your Senegalese Embassy for further information.

Senegal is part of the CFA whose exchange rate is fixed.

Many banking groups are in Senegal. CBAO-Attijariwafa Bank, SGBS (subsidiary of Société Générale) or encore BICIS (subsidiary of BNP) have a wide network of agencies and ATMs in Dakar and all the country. It is also possible to change money.

The price of the route varies according to distance but not only. Count between 500 and 2,500 FCFA if you stay in the centre of Dakar. Negotiate the rate carefully before getting inside the taxi and make sure you have change as this can often be scarce.

Yellow Fever vaccination is mandatory if you have travelled before in some countries in Africa or South America.
If it is not mandatory in other cases; it is strongly advised.

Vaccinations advised: Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Tetanus-poliomyelitis

Malaria: ask a specialist doctor in tropical medicine although the marathon will take place in the dry season.
