90 years of Eiffage in Senegal
|Eiffage is a construction and public works company; a subsidiary of Eiffage, the fifth largest European group of concessions and PPP, construction, public works, & energy. The Group is mainly present in Europe but is also internationally known for building great architectural monuments such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Opera House in Sydney, the Channel Tunnel and the Viaduct in Millau.|
For 90 years a relationship of trust with Senegal has been nurtured in responding to the different construction projects of the country with its crowning achievement, the Autoroute de l’Avenir, the 1st toll motorway of West Africa, whose first section between Dakar and Diamniadio was opened on 1 August 2013. The 2nd section, between Diamniadio and Blaise Diagne International Airport, is due to be opened in 2016.
A motorway of 42 km… a distance reminiscent of a marathon. This is what set off the Eiffage directors down the path of rising to the challenge of organizing an international sporting event.
Eiffage Senegal has adopted a socially responsible approach to the country for more than 25 years through the different projects supported or undertaken by the Group. It is present in different key areas such as health, education, sustainable development, culture and even sport.
